Player hack wanted

Here in R4 I have an LG DC593W player. Are there any hacks so that I can play R1 and R2 dvds?

Try looking at http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php - keep in mind using such firmware will VOID all warranty. Incorrectly flashing a drive's firmware can render the drive useless.

Skith - your statement about 3 region controls only applies to PCs. It does NOT apply to standalone players. Firmware is the only region control to overcome on a standalone DVD player.

Yeah, i never could figure that out for pc's either because every drive i have ever flashed to be region free has always played my import dvd's perfectly with only that 1 mod. on my pc.... so i never have firgured out why people always say there is more to playing an import dvd than just flashing the drive to be region free 8)

and actully there are 2 things on a standalone, being able to change the region or making it region free & if the player will convert PAL to NTSC or vice versa if such a conversion is required

jerseybean what exactly is that drive ? i ask because i don't know off hand and when i did a search here that model you listed did not come up in any of the 3 sections ?

Your right! I am not to familiar with LG, and assumed it was a PC drive. A mistake on my part.
