  1. Hello people,

I would like split my M2V file into a sequence of BMP images, modify the images and then reconvert back to M2V again. Please advise me on how to do it.

The movie it's not too long, around 30 secs to 1 min.

Any way to do it without losing quality ?

    Thanks in advance...

Easiest Way to do the first part:

    You'll need VirtualDub-MPEG2

In VirtualDub-MPEG2, open the M2V file then "save as image sequence"

You'll now have a folder of BMPs

  4. I haven't used tmpgenc in a while but won't it import BMPs if they're all in sequential order (i.e. bmp0001, bmp0002, bmp0003, etc..)

  6. OK...

    Perfect solution from u guys...

Works perfectly... Just using VirtualDub and TMPGEnc, gets the job done fast and easy...

The only pain is to edit every bitmap by hand... ))

Again, thanks a lot... Great help...

  7. You're editing those BMPs by hand? That could be up to 1800 frames for one minute! What are you trying to do?

  8. What I am trying to accomplish is that I want to completely erase an option from a motion menu.

I have a motion menu that displays 3 languages to choose from (English, Spanish and Chinese). I want to erase completely the chinese option from that menu, so it only displays the English and Spanish option.

What I am going to do is, take every image and batch process it and then put them all back together again...

If there is an easier way to do it, I'll be happy to hear about it...

    Thanks again 4 your help...

although it doesnt delete the actual image, there is a tool called menuedit that will delete the link for the chinese button.. to me, its not really worth it to go in and edit a buncha bmp's to oblitirate it.

  10. K...

Have already used MenuEdit & IFOEdit also. Have achieved the same results, but without touching the image.

In this particular case, I am needing the aesthetic effect. That's why I'm going thru so much trouble...

    Thanks again 4 your help...

  11. Ah, there is I think a filter for VDub called overlay, maybe it will help.
Oops sorry there isn't such a filter for VDub. It is avisynth filter

  12. It won't be that hard to edit all of those BMPs. Just create a macro in your editing software....

  13. K...

Right now, the method I am using, consist in recording actions in Photoshop.

Nothing fancy, just pasting, moving the layer around a bit, then merging the layers and saving...

A little time consuming, but works perfect...

Just would like to thank all the input received... Really did help me a great deal...

    Thanks again to all folks...

Actions in Photoshop aren't a bad idea, but you could edit it at the video level pretty easily and just as effectively.

Check out the removing items section of my guide:

Here is a link to the main page if you need to download any of the filters:
