Hi
I have a 7 GB DVD I want to fit on 4.7 GB DVD. I used DVDShrink but even after taking of all the unnecessary material, making a minimum custom ratio I still not happy with the final quality of the main title.
I notice that the movie has long credits roller in the end which no one will miss so I want to trim it off.
I guess there is better way to do it but this is how I though to do it.
1. Detecting the vob that contanin the last chapter
2. trim the credits off with VideoReDo.
3. converting the trimmed mpeg2 to vob
4. give it the same name as the original vob.
5. place it on the structure.
My problem is in step 3,how can I convert the mpeg2 file to vob? And will it work?
Thanks
S

You say that you did not like the way it looks after transcoding. Since you compressed it at max, it is not going to look pretty at all. That is a simple fact of compression. You will have to do a movie only and cut out the lengthy crerdits as described earlier. I find that MOST compressions below 60-70 % begin to look bad even on my minimal 27" tv.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD! -
I never said that I compress it in maximum quality.
In DVDShrink I put the main title on Automatic aspect ratio and all the extra material I use the minimum aspect ratio available.
I want to keep all the extra as well .if I would keep the main title only I don’t believe that I had any problem.
Now….i just trimmed the final chapter as I described in my original post. When I run it in VOBBlanker it said that it reached the end of the vob to early. It does make sense because I really trimmed off the vob and it really should reach it early.
How can I fix this problem?
Thanks

Use deep analysis and AEC. If you're doing heavy compression of the original use 'Smooth' or Max Smooth'.

Ok, you put everything else on "minimum". That's no good...
Pick the stuff you don't care about and kill it off, either with VOBBlanker, or just by picking "still image" (not "still pictureS"). Try killing off:
- Trailers
- Music Videos
- Stupid documentaries
- Promo material
Movies ARE getting bigger, but at least 50% of the time I can just kill off enough stuff to make the movie compress at 85% and still keep the menus and deleted scenes.
