  1. I'm having a problem authoring a DVD. Admittly, this is my first time doing this.

I have 10 small VOB files ripped on my harrdrive, and no IFO file. With DVD Lab Pro, the only thing I seem to be able to do is make a DVD that contains 10 separate "movies", one for each vob file, and a menu that selects them each individually.

I would like to have just one "movie" file, and be able to skip through each of the 10 scenes with the Skip Forward button.

I tried VobMerge and made one big VOB file out of the 10 smaller ones, and insterted that into DVD Lab. It handles the file (about 4.4 gigs in size) but when testing with DVD players, the file doesnt play in order. Either VOBMerge keeps messing up the order, or DVD Lab Pro wont handle a single 4.4 gig file.

Any suggestions on how to "string" these 10 scenes together, so you can skip through them as one single movie?

    Thanks

You can merge them into one file, however, that file then needs to be broken into smaller vob files. I believe the spec calls for 1GB file size. So you should end up with 1 video file broken up into 5 vob files.

  3. I would suggest to use GUI for dvdauthor and import the separate vobs as parts of the same title (don't use titlesets). There is nice tutorial how to use it. I am afraid you should edit the xml file for authoring by hand to set the postcommands and I don't know if it will take vobs, but I made something similar what you want to do with 3 separate clips - so it should work.

    skypine27,
Use Playlist in DVDLab Pro. In the playlist, just include the video clips in the right order.

    I have done it once.

http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/test.htm might help. All you have to do is name the VOBs in order of playback and follow the guide.
    If in doubt, Google it.
