Rumors were that Michael Eisner, CEO of Disney Studios, would retire next year. Wrong. He's retiring a year earlier than expected on September 30th, this year. His replacement will be Walt Disney Co. President, Robert Iger. I'm sure Roy Disney and Stanley Gold know by now. But, their SaveDisney.com site makes no mention of the change in leadership ... so it's hard to say whether Iger meets with their approval ... or if he's just an Eisner clone put in place to maintain the "status quo." Anyhoo, here's the article:

Hopefully, this may mean an earlier-than-expected Song Of The South release.

  2. Just skimming through SaveDisney.com it sounds like a Eisner clone.

If Eisner was instrumental in the greenlighting of dog barf like Inspector Gadget 2 (aka "say, chief, do you feel even more like an impostor?"), then his retirement can only be a good thing.

Eisner was a genius in the early 80's when Disney was foundering and didn't know what to do.

He brought them back from the brink.

Then he micromanaged them into the ground. Disney World is no longer as magical as it used to be - because they now treat their employees like shit. Add to that the fact that they cut corners WHENEVER POSSIBLE to save the very last buck, and you know why Roy quit.
