  1. Here's my situation:

I have a boatload of quicktime movies that I need to burn to a DVD that will play in a set-top DVD player. I tried to use toast 6 to author the movies but I know there must be a way to fit more on each DVD via some means of compression. Since these are downloaded tutorials, I don't need pristine picture quality. I tried searching for this, but all the posts I found dealt with compressing commercial DVDs (using DVD2One for instance), not a collection of individual files. Thanks for any info you guys may have! I'm running OSX 10.2, by the way.

  2. I was able to do this by converting to DV(digital video but HUGE file sizes, like 15mb a sec). Then i brought it into iDVD to create my own dvd. Just something to think about....

EDIT: To convert to DV you can download a freeware program from www.versiontracker.net

i wouldnt recommend the serial seeker because its against the law but it is virus/spyware/adware free

You are in breach of the forum rules and are being issued with a formal warning. No warezing.

  4. I do apoligize for whatever manner I was negative on. I said right in there that I DO NOT recommend you download this because it is illegal.

Oh by the way, did you know its illegal do undo the copyright protection enforced onto DVD's regardless of backup purposes?
    Thanks

Blah, blah, blah. When you point a finger three are pointing right back at you. Don't try to pass off your mistake by accusing us of something.

    To the thread author:

If you create a DVD, with Sizzle or DVD Studio Pro or someother DVD maker, you can then compress it with DVD2OneX. It will be much harder for you if you compress the video files beforehand because you would have to try trial and error to find the proper bitrate that allows you to put all your videos on a DVD.

  6. Since you mention Toast and DVD2one.

-Drop all your .mov files in the Video Tab of Toast
-Save as disk image from the file menu.
(This will create a nice DVD with menus, and toast as an encoder is of good quality and speed. This part can take many hours)
-Lastly, use DVD2one to compress your probably too big disk image into something that will fit on a standard 4Gig DVD. You need to mount the image to re-compress it.

    Cheers,
    Alph
