  1. is it normal for dual-layer disks to show up as dvd-rom diskc i figured it would showUP as something different..

also the dual-layer dvd's i burn have got the same type of problem of dvdrw's disks have.

also if a player cant play dvdrw it cant play a dual-layer dvd+r either..

how can i make my dual layer disk's more compatible? i am using nero burning rom to burn the dvd's if that helps i am also using an rosewill RD-162 burner..

Yes. Most burners set the booktype for DVD+R DL media to DVD-ROM by default.

I've made 5 DL dvds so far and, have set it so that it reads dvd-rom for better compatiblity. By crappy samsung, can't read them(but it has trouble reading almost anything) Toshiba plays the DL fine.
