  1. forget Mjpeg, Picvideo, Huffyuv...try the DV codec

i can capture at 720x576 @ 25fps with on the fly deinterlacing using iuvcr's built in filter and it look amazing. Needs about 12GB/hour but i personally find it better than Huff cos i can't deinterlace at the same time, it becomes skippy.

Try it and post feedback here.

  2. hmm okay...nobody's excited or what?

  3. Nope, I guess not

It makes NO SENSE what-so-ever to capture with a DV codec unless you have a DV/Digital8 camcorder or a device like the Canopus ADVC-100 etc.

I read this when you first posted it. I was going to "blast" you for being stupid. I decided to ignore it.

Now you have the nerve to wonder why people aren't excited?

It is simply because you have NO CLUE what you are doing.

Your suggestioin is BAD and WRONG.

I should have brought it up before but WHY are you deinterlacing?

Rarely is this a good thing to do

As for as being "personal" when something is stupid it should be told.

  7. because otherwise i have horizontal lines allover the place.

and since "stuff" cannot be "captured" to DV, only "transferred", then how the hell do you explain the better quality in 12gb/hour than huffy or mjpeg?

if u need to bitch, then flame the content, not me, ok? don't mix up "something stupid" with "someone stupid".

You can't be serious with this statement. You do realize what interlaced video is and how "lines all over the place" is normal for that format?

Based on the fact that you have and can use other codecs like PICVideo MJPEG and HuffyUV suggests that you have a capture card that does not do hardware conversion. This makes your capture using the DV codec a "capture" and not a "transfer". If you are "transfering" data from a device that outputs DV AVI ... such as a DV cam or Canopus ADVC-100 ... then there is no reason to use anything BUT the DV AVI format. In short you are really confused!

Stupid content comes from stupid people yet stupid people who believe that they are correct are so annoying that they become something less than human.

Though a bit crass, what Fulci is saying is true.

But because the thread is getting a bit hostile...
