  1. I've heard good things about this program so I was giving it a try.

    I burned 3 (~300MB) mpg movies with a straightforward menu listing play all, and video1, video2, video3.

The menu shows up find but when I select anything to play, it plays the video "behind" the menu. The menu never goes away. Audio comes in fine etc.

If I play the files on my computer in WinDVD they work fine.

Any ideas ? My standalone is an Apex AD-1000 and the DVD was on a Memorex DVD+RW.

    Thanks

What are the details on the mpgs? In particular the dimensions?

  3. The file size was 320 x 240.. I was under the impression that the program would be able to handle it. I'm using the latest beta..should I try one of the others.

Basically I've got a bunch of mpegs that I want to quickly put onto a DVD to play without having to go thru the whole process of re-encoding the video

Also I tried burning it without the menu and I just got a blank screen

    Thanks for the help

Well whilst the program has no problem producing the DVD your play has issues playing it. As you can see from the following:

    NTSC (NTSC Film)

    Video:
Up to 9.8 Mbps* (9800 kbps*) MPEG2 video
Up to 1.856 Mbps (1856 kbps) MPEG1 video
    720 x 480 pixels MPEG2 (Called Full-D1)
    704 x 480 pixels MPEG2
    352 x 480 pixels MPEG2 (Called Half-D1, same as the CVD Standard)
    352 x 240 pixels MPEG2
352 x 240 pixels MPEG1 (Same as the VCD Standard)
    29,97 fps*
23,976 fps with 3:2 pulldown = 29,97 playback fps (NTSC Film, this is only supported by MPEG2 video)
16:9 Anamorphic (only supported by 720x480)
352 * 240 is the closest resolution to the dvd standard to your 320 x 240. The best you can do is reencode to that resolution. If your mpegs are pal then SVCD2DVD can convert them to NTSC at that resolution (352 * 240) otherwise something like Mainconcept Encoder will do it quickly too.

  5. Thanks I appreciate the help. Re-enconding them to a slighly different resolution should work better than re-encoding to full DVD compliance.

I tried it out on some other videos and they worked fine. I'm going to buy it. Thanks again
