  1. Is it possible to do a straight DVD-2-DVD copy using the new dvd writers out there. I'd want them to be playable in normal DVD players.

    Cheers all.

  3. This is interesting... Can you just not copy commercial DVD to DVD-R, or can you not copy ANY DVD to DVD-R. I had made a bunch of DVDs and then erased the images in the name of disk space. I always thought that I could just copy them in the future if I needed to. This sucks if its true.

The newer dvd writers arent dvd-r but dvd+r they will start to come out nxt year and they should be able to make playable dvd's for a standalone player. This tech is being encorporated in philips stand alone dvd recorder. Check it out at the philips site http://www.philips.nl

  6. So Kdiddy, I should be able to do a direct DVD-R to DVD-R copy correct? In other words, I took a bunch of home movies, wrote them to DVD-R and a family member wants a copy. I should be able to go directly from one to the other, right?

If so, what would be a good program to do that?
