  1. Hi
    I am having a problem with some xvid to dvd conversions using SVCD2DVD RC01 and RC05. The resulting DVD plays fine in my Andrew Boss stand alone player and my PC but when I play in my Philips DVD recorder 8080 the picture is 'floating' probably a video sync problem? Other DVD's play ok on the Philips as do some of my other SVCD2DVD conversions. Is this a problem with the xvid file in question?
    Any help welcome.
    p.s. I have converted the offending xvid files to SVCD using another program and it plays fine on the Philips 8080!
    Thanks

    What happens if you author the xvid, converted by another program to mpeg, with SVCD2DVD?
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

  3. Hi Chris,

    Right some more info for you to consider regarding the apparent loss of vertical and horizontal sync problem when processing SOME of my xvid movie files with SVCD2DVD on certain Dvd players.

    As requested I converted two of my 'problem' xvid's to Dvdmpeg using MainConcept Encoder and processed these via SVCD2DVD RC05 to DVD. No difference, same resultant loss of V and H sync when played on my Philips 8080 but ok on PC and my Andrew Boss player.

    I then downloaded DIKO and used it to convert the same xvid files to DVD and guess what, all ok, the resultant DVD plays on everything.

    Any idea's on why this should be?

    Thanks

  4. Some more info on my problem:

    Used the same xvid files with The Film Machine and the result was the same as SVCD2DVD, loss of horizontal and vertical sync when played on the Philips 8080 but ok on the PC.

    Just to make sure of my facts I then tried DIKO again with the same source xvid files and once again the resultant DVD played ok on both my players.

    Strange one!
