Hi All
i cannot get it to work!!!
I have googled and searched here before making this post and couldnt find an answer. Hopefully someone can help.
im doing what it says on pg124 of the sony instructions, dubbing and it says it can be done. i have connected the av cable to the output scart on the VHS video, using an output scart lead. Selected the correct input on the video(L1) and using the (rec ctrl) of the camcorder in VCR mode. Selected play on the video and rec on the camcorder. But each time i look on the miniDV tape its blank.
Is there a simple trick i am missing?
All help much appreciated.

IF the camcorder is able to record via an external sourse(not all can...mine can't) I believe it has to be in "VCR Mode" (as if you are viewing the tape in the camcorder)...not in camera mode.

You may have some setting on your vcr that may enable this. I know I had problems and it came down to enabling output video on the vcr to do this. Or else I know that there is some difference between european cams and us cams. There is some europeon import law that makes camcorders unable to operate as vcrs so this option gets disabled on europeon cams. I am not sure about the details of this but I do know there is some difference with europeon cams. There is some kind of workaround for this that I read once but I have no idea where I read it.
