  1. Okay I just picked up a system from Frys with a hauppauge pvr 150 dv & analog capture unit. So I noticed I cannot capture in premiere (analog at least, I don't have a dv camera) so I capped my video via arcsoft's dvd studio program as mpeg and sent it to the premiere to edit. It imports fine but then the audio doesn't come up on the sequence screen or when I render and output it to it's own file. Now I have changed the the playback settings to audio hardware only and dl'ed multiple codecs hoping for a fix, nothing has come up. I am wondering if anyone knows what I can do or any suggestions to resolve this problem. Also I am seriously wondering if Premiere will be able to capture and output video from the DV hardware when I do get a dv camera since this card is capping in mpeg format.

Thanks for your time folks I hope someone can help me out with this problem.

First of all, seems that you are not too familiar with Adobe Premiere and Video editing. I assume when you play the original MPEG2 file in arcsoft you have the sound. Try editing with some free demo editor to see if you can import the audio as well. Find out from MPEG properties if audio is included and in what format (Videoinspector?).
Capturing DV will not be affected (this is default).

You need to convert audio to WAV.
Goldwave or any good audio editor. Check tools section. Convert to wav and import in Adobe or...
get Womble MPEG Video Wizard that will import and allow editing in MPEG2.
