    When I want to make video file (MPEG 2) I go trough: file/render as/mainconcept mpeg 1-2/dvd pal , but here I can't choose video bitrate. For example I want to render 720x576 with 6000 Kb/sec, but when I click to CUSTOM field nothing's happens.So my question is : How can I choose video bitrate value when rendering AVI to MPEG file.
    Another questions: Where I can see how big will be created video file (in Mb) before render the file. If created video file will be biger theh 4,2Gb (DVD) I should lower the video bitrate to fit video file to one DVD disc, but I already explain in my first question that when I press CUSTOM field there is no new window.
    Regards, Macedonia.

  2. Click File->Render As->MainConcept MP2->click 'custom' button->select 'video' tab->bitrate is on the bottom.

    I don't think you get a project size unless you frameserve out to the the full Main Concept encoder (like I do).

    Please, tell me how you can frameserve with VEGAS.I can't see any frameserve button here.I have used frameserve encoding with VIRTUAL DUB and TMPGenc 2.5. VIRTUAL DUB has "start frame serve button", but I can't see in VEGAS 5.So how you can do it?

    download and install the frameserver. Once it's in, you'll notice the option under the 'render as' option. Once the frameserver starts, it'll write a 'signpost' avi file to your desktop (or where ever you want it). Once it starts, minimize Vegas and open your favorite encoder and direct it to your signpost avi. Set your encoder options and start encoding. Vegas will funnel frames to the signpost avi and your seperate encoder will pick up the frames from the signpost and write your finished file.

    I suppose you COULD frameserve to VDub, but Main Concept's encoder, TMPGEnc, or Cinema Craft Encoder would probably do a better job for you.
