  1. I am trying to compress final cut pro 4.5 movies in ffmpegx .9s and it starts encoding normal then dings finished when it reaches about 20%. The video plays at high speed and then audio starts normal. Then it stops. The encoding process is fouling up somehow. It happens no matter what preset I choose for output. Here is a copy of the process information:

    Encoding started on Mon Mar 21 13:28:24 EST 2005
    Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp, from '/Volumes/200GB HD/projects/anatomy SPD/FCP movies/bone_model':
    Duration: 00:01:28.6, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 30314 kb/s
    Stream #0.0: Video: dvvideo, 720x480, 29.97 fps
    Stream #0.1: Audio: pcm_s16be, 48000 Hz, stereo, 1536 kb/s
    Output #0, mov, to '/Volumes/200GB HD/projects/anatomy SPD/FCP movies/bone_model.ff.mov':
    Stream #0.0: Video: mpeg4, 640x480, 29.97 fps, q=2-9, 1516 kb/s
    Stream #0.1: Audio: aac, 48000 Hz, stereo, 96 kb/s
    Stream mapping:
    Stream #0.0 -> #0.0
    Stream #0.1 -> #0.1
    bench: utime=22.640s
    video:2376kB audio:1884kB global headers:0kB muxing overhead 0.859653%
    Encoding completed on Mon Mar 21 13:29:22 EST 2005

  2. Try to add a .mov extension to your file and enable "Decode with Quicktime" in the Options tab.

    I have the same problem. I want to compress and authorize a DVD from final cut 4.5HD with ffmpegx and the result is the same like your (the video plays at high speed and then audio starts normal). I've tried "decode with quicktime" too but it crash. Simply I can't convert movie to MPEG2 with MP2 or AC3 audio. Can you or anybody help me?
    Thanx
