I have a pyro Firewire card. It has been working like a charm until recently I noticed the capturing windows flickers a lot. the same thing happens if i use the DV cam as a webcam. The flickering even shows up in the captured video files. What i mean by flickering is the frame is actually composed of a two half-frames, the bottom part of the previous frame and the top part of the latter frame. i was using Windv. I have tried Sclive. I know i did something stupid to my computer, but i don't know what i did made this happen. i have attached a picture captured while playing the captured video.
Thank you guys in advance. I desparately need help.

Hi tigerten,
There's no picture...
Try unistalling the card (done via "Control Panel" inWindows) and then reboot the PC. I'm assuming you're using a PC with Windows on it... Hint: Fill out your computer details...
When the PC reboots, it'll reinstall the card. Then try capturing.
If that doesn't work, physically remove the card and try the same slot and a spare slot (if there is one).
IMPORTANT: Make sure you know what you're doing before attempting this, i.e. PC off, anti-static cable attached to you, only touch the edges of the firewire card etc.
Hope that works for you. It could be a knackered cable or, like you say, something you've done.

Good luck...There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

thank you daamon for your reply.
I read through that thread. was nice reading. I can't seem to find the answer.
It is just capturing. It shows up in every viewing program. I have tried windows movie make. it is the same.
I have P4 2.8 dell dimension 4700, onbaord graphics. pyro 1394Dv, canon ZR (the oldest dv cam). running winXP sp2. it was perfect before. i did not do anything to the hardware. But i did unplugged the card and reinserted into the slot. i have installed the patch from MS site recommended in the other thread.
I am sorry i don't know how to post the image.
