  1. Based on what I've read, here, I went out, today, and purchased the Ilo DVDRo4, and while I understand the features, still one thing eludes me: After playing a DVD, shy of toggling through the "source" button, is there any other easy way to get back to the input signal? You can do it through the "source" button, but if you are NOT using the coax connection (such as myself), you are going to get a nice little burst of white noise, as you run past the tuner input. Just curious.

  3. Wow. That stinks. Well, what do we expect, for $150, at Walmart, huh?

    Here's how I use mine

    Scenario ..

I record my tv show. It's finished. I press play, watch and enjoy
oh.., but I just want to check what's on TV (I use coax antenna source too)
and I want to see where "Reba" is at..

TIP: #2 -- source shuffling on the iLO DVDR04 unit

    * Press source btn once. - - will get you your TV source.
    * Now, I want to go back to DVD movie, press play btn ->, and you're
.. back to the DVD movie. Press source btn again, and we're back to
.. the TV show. Press play button ->, and you're back to the DVD movie
    .. again. .. .. ..

I think that as long as you don't go through the Menu, then everything is fluid,
and no snow. (I've ben there too) You just have to learn to take a walk outside
and view your unit from all angles

I love my new 'digital VCR'. It's doesn't have all the bells and whistles
as the more expansive units out there, but it definately servies its purpose.

  5. You misunderstood. I do NOT use the coax. I use the rcas. Therefor, I WILL go past the coax option, and WILL get snow, and static. I might try just running a coax connection from my satellite out, to the Ilo's in, just to give it a feed, and shut it up.

  6. So, all you want to do is avoid pressing the button three or four times?
If the white noise bothers you connect the coax to a vcr or nintendo/sega (old systems).

  7. I have two 2 year olds in the house, taking a nap at any given time, so, yeah, the noise can be a problem, so I did what I said I would: I ran a coax off the coax out, on my satellite, to the coax in on the recorder. True, I get a redundant signal, but, hey: No more rude awakening.
