  1. Hi, i have several videos that when you move the seek bar (windows media player) a little bit, it skips way too far. and if you go to the middle of the seek bar, the video has already ended.

    the reason for this (i think) is because the video is only 27 minutes, but as a total time it has 5:28:00 so it thinks that the video is 5 hours long.

    is there a way to change the total time of a movie file?

    or if you have any other fix for this, please help.

    This sounds like a AVI, maybe DIVX that has errors in the file. I usually run them through Virtualdub Mod and do a direct stream copy to bypass the errors. If it's MPEG, then there are some 'video fixers' that work on some files. Or you can re-encode it.

    BTW, try some other players other than WMP. VLC media player is a good one to have around for stubborn files as it uses it own codecs. This is handy if the problem might be codec related.
