whitch one is better? are they the same program? what can u do with TMPGEnc3XP? i looked at both programs and they look the same?

tmpgenc xpress 3 encodes video.
TDA authors the encoded video to dvd.Cheers, Jim

It encodes to MPEG2 format (which is what is used on DVD's). If your video is in a different format (like AVI, etc.) you have to transcode it to MPEG2.

What is DVD
In short, to make a fully-compliant DVD (playable in a settop player), you need to convert whatever you have to DVD-compliant MPEG-1 or MPEG-2. Once you have this DVD-complaint MPEG, you then need to author it to create your IFO, BUP and VOB files. Read the above links for more information.If in doubt, Google it. -
