  1. whitch one is better? are they the same program? what can u do with TMPGEnc3XP? i looked at both programs and they look the same?

    TDA authors the encoded video to dvd.

    sorry if this is a noob question, but why would u need to encodes video? i make dvd with TDA but i dont know the use of tmpgenc xpress. what does it do? i dont know what "encodes video" means, but like i said im a noob so sorry if the quetions are dumb

  4. It encodes to MPEG2 format (which is what is used on DVD's). If your video is in a different format (like AVI, etc.) you have to transcode it to MPEG2.

    What is DVD

    In short, to make a fully-compliant DVD (playable in a settop player), you need to convert whatever you have to DVD-compliant MPEG-1 or MPEG-2. Once you have this DVD-complaint MPEG, you then need to author it to create your IFO, BUP and VOB files. Read the above links for more information.
