Sorry if this isn' appropriate for a thread but why do a certain couple of cry-baby's always seem to reply to every question, thought, or concern.
They seem to have an afinity to respond with nothing constructive to say. They also seem to have the power to control all.

2. They are emotionally immuture
3. They intend to be disruptive
4. They may lack the ability to communicate knowledge they have to others.
5. All of the above plus many, many other factors that affect those with challenged emotional and/or intellectual capacities

Names, please. And don't be shy. I have been following a bunch of different threads at a couple of different forums that are along these same lines. I really don't intend for this to become a shit stirring reply but I fear it will come off that way.
To some it would seem that anyone that complains, becomes a cry baby themselves. And to not mention names or events kind of makes you look like you are afraid to speak your mind. I have very few problems with anyone or anything posted here. I do tend to think that Off Topic is kind of a place to joke, vent and escape from reality. If anything offends it can be ignored, replied to or reported. Unfortunatly as simple as that sounds things can go bad. If you ignore a direct statement it could make you look bad. If you try to respond it can escallate into a full blown flame. And if you report it you may be considered by some to be a cry baby. Doesn't seem like you can win does it?

While not approved by anybody I would like to suggest a cure or at least a possible answer. First don't be so thin skinned, take everything with a grain of salt. Text is very hard to reveal the true tone of the sender even with smileys. And a poster that just had a good time at another thread may come to a more serious thread in a playful mood and post in a playful manner. Or someone with serious thoughts may be offended by some of others more playful topics. This is a big site and it has attracted all sorts of personalitys, so some tolerance will be needed.

A direct responce is IMHO the best reply to an offence. Don't be rude or foul about it, just state that you have a different veiw and would not like to discuss the issue any further in the direction that it has turned. If you feel that you are being flamed or picked on, in more than a playful manner than you would accept, by all means report it and let a Mod get involved. We (the members) don't realy want anyone to leave this site with bad feelings towards us or the site. We have lost, it seems, a few members here as of late. While opinions may vary on the subject, a loss is a loss and every opinion and tid bit of information that is gained is a gain. It will be a shame to lose any more over what seems to be petty things.

To the offenders, it is simple. Don't post stupid shit in other peoples threads unless you are reasonably sure that the orginal poster will not be offended. If a member tells you to butt out, then butt out. If some one says that you are offending them, apologize and move on. There is no need for full blown flame wars unless the people involved are just having fun with each other and it is made clear that those involved are doing it in a freindly manner. Arguments are the spice of life sometimes. It can be good to express your veiws and it is a learning experience when valid points can be made. I was taught to argue every point until I fully understood it from all sides. It is a great way to learn a subject. It is sometimes called open mindedness. (Iwish that I was better at it)

No, the brewing is going well. I have advanced to making it from scratch, no more malt extract and I've been hanging out on brewing boards mainly.

I pop in here once in a while though. Looks like most of the old timers are gone.

these forums are supposed to be all about community and supporting other people who have the same interests as yourself

some people just have serious emotional problems...
unfortunately, the anonymity (sp?) of the internet gives them brass balls the size of watermelons
successfully posting something nasty only boosts their already inflated 'ego' and they can turn into one of those people who just go out of their way to piss people off -- no reason other than to provoke a response
if they happen to target you, it can become difficult to resist the urge to engage them (depending on their 'skill')

I made a blueberry mead in november. It won't be ready until next november, but it's coming along pretty good. Right now it's a deep purple color. I hope it tastes as good as it looks

I used 15 pounds of honey and 6 pounds of crushed blueberries in a 5 gallon batch.

I havnt made mead in awhile. I used to like ginger mead.Lemon as well.
