As above the error message is:
File <filename> can not open or unsupported
I'm a newbie at this. I've gotten this .avi from someone, I wish to convert it to a vcd. How can I solve this problem?
Pardon my ignorance

Hi, I am very new at this too and still am trying to get
a high quality vcd burned. Maybe I can help you a little bit. Do you have a software program like Easy CD Creator
or Nero? Do you have an encoder software like TMPGEnc?
You will need these 2 things to get started(besides having
a decent computer).

to convert avi to vcd/svcd, you must have a divx codec.. download a codec (look in tools) and then you can encode.. although you might get synch problems (I did).. so what I do is that I first open virtual dub, I open the avi, i set video as direct stream copy, audio at full process and no compression. then save as avi. Open up in TMPGEnc and convert...
