Just wondering how many people watch all of these movies they are buying? I purchase very few movies, most of the movies I purchase are kid movies for my daughter. I just can't see myself buying a bunch of movies when Hollywood puts them on VHS, then on DVD and the next thing will to put them on HD DVD. Obviously it will never end, but I rarely watch a movie more than once. Maybe that is just it, my personality. Heck after I read a book I just give it to Goodwill. My wife asked me the other day if I wanted to purchase the 24 series, I replied why, I have seen it once and I already know what happened.

I won't rebuy anything in HD-DVD... mainly because I won't buy an HDTV until prices are under $1000 for a 32". And that's a good number of years off.

That's why I rent. There are very few movies I want to see more than once, and even then only once every year or two.

I bought 24 TV series, seasons 1/2/3 and I haven't played the DVDs yet.

I don't have much time for TV and never watched them on air.

The advantage of TV series in DVD box sets are no ads and to view them in my own time.

'Friends' is another TV series I got and this one will take years to play all.

I have many other of TV series in my collection to watch as well.

I normally only watch the news and special events on TV and this is all.

I watch everything I buy - it may take me a while, I usually have at least 6-10 discs on the "to be watched" shelf.

most discs I buy are movies that I know I want to watch more than once, or are so cheap that I'm willing to check them out on a whim.

  9. I buy only those movies which I know will be watched more than 2/3 times at least. OK. There are three or four in my collection which never get a viewing nowadays. I made a mistake with those - but they are excellent movies all the same - Heat, The Generals Daughter, I-Spy, etc.

But the general rule stays true. I watched "Casabalnca" some 25 times already. That is one reason why my movie collection has stayed around 100 or so.

  10. Most of my DVD purchases are for TV series only. I purchase DVD movies very rarely.
