  2. Wow. thanks. I hope I can find some that has the better dye, that is made in Japan. I've been using Maxell and Fuji (MIJ). Both give me great burns on my NEC 2510a drive.

If you buy DVD-R then most of them Made in Taiwan and they are Ritek05 . People comeplain about it and I got 3 bad out of my first 3 .
I returned and get 4 spindel of DVD+R and got all of them are MXL02 .
Trick how to buy it cheap .
Get in Office Depot and ask for VIP reward card application, you can fill it anything and buy $40 you will get $10 off for the first time , get 3 or buy anything for $5.00 with 2 spindels and you will get $10 off .
Come next trip fill out another form to get $10 off . I did it and it work .

  4. FWIW, I've had great luck with Maxell DVD-Rs - both Japan RG03 and Taiwan Ritek G05 varities. I use a Pioneer 108 and a 106. Decent price if you like G05, or an especially good price if they have Japan RG03 available. If your burner likes TY better then the Fuji Japan media at Staples might be a better buy.

    Best of Luck,

  5. The store near me had two spindles of DVD-R MIJ remaining. I took both, and one DVD+R MIJ. Can't ever have enough storage for my DV and DVD backups.

  6. Just dropped by the Future Shope and Wal-Mart by my house.
THey had an add for 100 spindle of maxell 8x -r for $34.
Went down, but found that thay had the Made in Japan upc covered by a made in Taiwan. Anyone have experience w/ these? Are they MIJ or MIT?
THe 25 packs had the same thing.
However, i went to wal-mart and their 25 and 15 packs had upc that said straight up MIT.

Also, the +R are MIJ. That seems odd to me. Time to switch i guess.
