    Just got the tivo upgrade, and want to edit commercials out of the .tivo file. Are there any free programs that can do this. If not what's a good program to use.

    Once you've got an MPEG file, just use one of the many cutters out there. TMPGenc Mpeg Editor is good, as are both Womble products.

    good link, but there is no need to hack the series 2 since tivo made a program to do that. What I need is a program that will allow me to edit the .tivo file or comvert it to a mpeg (dvd compliant)
