I've had this same problem with multiple files. The thing they all have in common is that they're 23.976fps. When I encode with TMpgenc, the video file ends up being 3 times as long as the original extracted audio file. What's strange is that when I look at the original AVI in Vegas, the audio looks 3 times as long as the video, or just the reverse. The AVI plays fine on its own. Any ideas?

change the directshow priority in tmpgenc and convert the audio to wav and use in tmpgenc. www.videohelp.com/tmpgenc#problems

Thanks for the suggestion. I saw that in the TMPGenc help file, but still didn't work. The symptoms do sound similar though. Does it matter if I frameserve or not? The resulting video is actually in synch, it just hangs on the last frame for two hours. Next to the encoding progress bar, Tmpgenc shows three times as many frames as there actually is. I've been doing video only encodes, and creating AC3 files in Vegas using the extracted wav file.
