I was capturing a live event using my DV camera connected to my computer through FireWire and a backgrounf noise was inserted in both the file and the tape. I found out it was produced by the power supply of my computer, as there was no noise when working only with the batteries.
How can I avoid this noise using the power supply?
Is there any device I can place between the computer and the camera to eliminate it?
Should I use other connection than FireWire?
Thanks.

is it the power supply of the computer? or maybe the fan on the computer? What do you mean that it was inserted on the tape?Originally Posted by andonibl

it is the power supply, as soon as I disconnected it and worked just with the batteries it dissapeared. I'm positive, I tried several times connecting and disconnecting the AC cable.
I was encoding a live event with WM Encoder, so the noise was inserted both in the DV tape of the camera and also in the WMV file in my computer. -
Does your computer power supply have a builtin plug, and is that the plug you are using for your camcorder?
What happens if you plug your camcorder into a different outlet (one that doesn't have your computer connected)?George -
Initially the camcorder and the computer where plugged in the same strip, but I changed the computer to another plug and there was no result.
