Yesterday I bought the Philips DVP642 like most other people but I ran into 2 big problems and I'm on the verge of returning it if I can't find a solution or if I can find a player that can fix these 2 problems.
I bought this player to play my anime burned on DVD-Iso and for the most part the DVP642 plays them great but the problems are:
1) As most anime goes, the subs are low so when I play it on my TV they are cut off since the TV will cut off the borders of the videos anyways. I know I can re-encode the episodes but that kills the purpose of convenient burning and viewing with a DVD player. If there was some option that could maybe give me a zoom out of 90% then that'd be perfect! Are there any other solid Divx DVD players that support this?
2) It doesn't play QPEL or GMC and there isn't a firmware upgrade for this yet right? I guess I can live with this as long as I can see the subs but a player that supports QPEL and GMC would be even better. Are there any players that support QPEL and GMC and also satisfy problem 1?
Don't hesistate to give me suggestions as I'm looking for the best player around. I don't have any budget for this so the player can be as low as $10 to as high as $500 or even more. I just want something that can play what I needThanks in advance.
