A few quick sizzle questions

ok, i'm using sizzle 0.5b1. I have authored most of the dvd and just a have a few concerns.

The dvd is 3 movies. Two are from the same source and their "video format" is 720x480 by default. This makes sense to me. The third movie's default video format is 352x480. I know this is a dvd ready mpeg. (treated it with replaytvtoolshell) Do I change the video format for this one to 720x480 in sizzle or do I just leave it alone?

I converted these movies using ffmpegx and when doing that I get three files... mpg, mpv, ac3. since i'm using the mpv and ac3 in sizzle, is it okay for me to throw out the mpgs?

Finally, what audio format does the menu audio have to be in? I have an aiff that sizzle will not allow. I thought maybe it was ac3. In that case how do you convert an aiff to ac3?

From the Help file: In order to add an audio file to a title, you need an audio stream in AC3, MPEG Layer-II, or Linear PCM format in DVD-compatible sampling rate and channel count.

Use e.g. QuickTime Pro to convert the aiff to wav, then ffmpegX to convert the wav to ac3.

Thanks Case. That answers those. I'm still concerned about the video format.

Should I change the format to 720x480? These mpegs (320x480) have burned in toast fine. I just want to use sizzle to make a nicer menu. Will there be a problem leaving it alone?

I just realized this... 352x480 never made sense to me, but that's what it says in sizzle. The mpeg2 is actually 320x240.

I still have my original question. Will 320x240 be fine or do I need to change it in sizzle to 720x480?

[Case]

352x480 is Half-D1 NTSC resolution, and valid for DVD. I would think it's okay for Sizzle, but never used it myself. Maybe someone else can confirm this.
320x240 is NOT valid for DVD. But... beware of getting the true resolution from QuickTime. QT will give you the numbers for it's normal display size, which is different from the true MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 resolution (because of the non-square pixels)!

I can verify half-D1 is fine with sizzle. I've made several 5 hour DVDs at this resolution. As I recall it is one of the options in the drop down resolution menu.
