    Hi,

    Ive been trying to network 2 computers they can see each other alright its just when i go to put one file onto the other machine over the network i get you do not have permission or access denied file is write protected and stuffl ike that..

    help please..

    Hello,

    I haven't been able to that stuff successfully very much. BUT try creating a folder called "shared" and right click it. I believe there should be an "ALL ACCESS" choice. If not go to the control panel and somewhere there should be an option to enable file sharing.....

    Ive also had this problem.

    Its a firewall problem (at least that was the case for me). Either one (or both) of the pcs is firewalled. Check your settings.

    If you are using Zone Alarm, this prevents you from accessing files on the network.

    Yeah mate cheers im having all sorts of problems here.

    I cant network an XP Pro machine to an XP Home maxhine i just need a full gun what to do and click etc.

    I heard u go to start>settings>control panel>admin tools but theres no local service or something on xp home like there is on xp pro..

    If anyone knows exactly what to do please tell me..

    did you set both up by Network setup wizard?
