  1. HI, Just got a spindle of TDK DVD +R at Circuit City for the incredible price of $ 7.95.
The package is original, but the disk surface is all white not mentioning TDK. I have not opened the package to check the mediacode yet.
Anybody have any experience with these disks ? Any good ? If not, I will return them. Thank you.

  5. I got the TDK DVD+R 25 pack with media ID CMC E01. However, these were the printables which also had the sale price of $7.95.

I never seen them, then again i dont buy my media there. I have seen some maxel inkjet printables at staples, which surprised me as the only other printables ice sen are the ridiculously over priced memmorx packs. But, I'll have to check em out tomorrow......errrrr, today i mean

Im not sure what speed the maxel inkjets were as i didnt buy them. it was at staples a couple weks back when i was buying all their 20 count maxell's for $3.50 per. As usual, I had to look all around the store as they like to semi hide them so they can keep em for themselves. Anyway, during my search I noticed the maxell inkjet printables and made a mental note to myself in case I need some. I dont think they were hub prin tho.

  15. These are inkjet printables, CMC E01.

I'm surprised how good the scans are for these discs. For my first 5 burns, these CMC's scaned as well as my YUDEN000T02 to the very end of the disc. I burned them on my BENQ1620 burner.

We'll see as I get deeper in to the spindle. My experience has shown that CMC has variations within even a single spindle.

My lite-on does not like these. CMC MAGE01
Two coasters so far. But I assume they are very drive/firmware dependant.

Look on Cdfreaks.com in the Liteon forum for finding a good firmware. These discs usually burn very well even with the liteons if you have the right firmware.

Thanks, I have the latest firmware and it burns my other media very well. I am currently searching for a better strat swap (so I can keep my firmware), but the first one I tried didn't help.

I always thought CMC stood for Crappy Media Company, no matter what burner you have.

I burn cmc a lot. I dont make a habit out of it, but if the price is right then I got no prblems with them. People call cmc crapp all the time and then i see people defending them. Kinda like a chevy lover talking about a ford.. or for you guys on that side of the pond.. A Mercedes luver talking about BMW.
Bottom line is, I'm burning them right now(as i type this) @12x AND they are just dandy

  27. I grabbed some of these today. I was hoping for something else but for that price I guess CMC is ok. I only got them because they were printable. Now I have to see if my NEC3500 or my BenQ1620 burn them better. Both are using modded fw with strat swaps.

Does anyone know if these TDK dvd+rs work on the ILO DVDR04? I just bought some, they say "8x compatable and higher", but will they work for dvd recorders? I bought a pack earlier today, they're all white on top so I guess thats the printable ones everyones talking about.
I always thought TDK was a good brand, mainly just b/c its so expensive, at least everytime I see it.
