SEATTLE — Mary Kay Letourneau and her former sixth-grade pupil, Vili Fualaau ,with whom she had two children, have set the date for their wedding, according to an online bridal registry.

Letourneau, 43, and Fualaau, 22, plan to wed April 16, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported Monday. Letourneau served 7 1/2 years on a 1997 conviction for raping Fualaau.

"It's been long overdue," said Noel Soriano, a longtime friend of the family who confirmed Sunday that they will marry this spring. "It's going to be fabulous, seeing them get hitched finally."

Letourneau was a married mother of four when she began a sexual relationship with the then-12-year-old Fualaau after meeting at Burien's Shorewood Elementary School in 1996, when she was 34. She was pregnant with Fualaau's first child when she was arrested in 1997 and ordered to serve a six-month sentence for second-degree child rape.

One month after she was released, Letourneau was caught having sex with Fualaau in her car. She pleaded guilty in 1997 to two charges of child rape, and gave birth to the couple's second daughter while serving her 7 1/2-year sentence. Fualaau's mother is raising their two daughters, aged 6 and 7.

Was she required to register as a sex offender just like all the men who have had inappropriate contact with underage girls? I didn't hear anything about that when she was released.

I mean hell, if you don't pet your dog every once in a while and it goes down to the neighbor's house and gets petted, then I see that as your own fault.

@smearbrick1 - I agree 100%, I like that older women know what the **** they want, how they want it, and know how to get it. But you also lose all that psychological gamesmanship bullshit that you have to hassle with when dealing with younger women. But my favorite part of older women, is that they appreciate it more.

Same is true about sexual harrassment. I once worked at a place where four out of the five managers were women.

They sort of sexually harassed me, but I liked it. Actually I liked it a lot. They made me do less work and I got to other things while at work.

Guys aren't going to report sexual harassment for two reasons, one they the attention from the opposite sex, and two they like the preferential treatment that the harassment gives them.

The only time a guy reports sexual harassment is when another dude is harassing them.

When I was in Jr. High, I was pursued by a young 2nd year teacher -- Language Arts and Spanish II. She was fresh out of NC State and her boyfriend was out of state doing an internship for his employer. Being pretty fluent in Spanish, I was a teacher's assistant in one of her classes and we became fast friends. One thing lead to another and our friendship became a little more than a friends. She was pretty attractive and really missed her boyfriend and sex and I think she just wanted an outlet that she considered as one that could not develop into anything serious. I was up for it and we agreed that it would never develop to anything more than a a physical relationship. Hey, I was 15 and I didn't care.
