Been trying out 2 different capture devices with the same bad results!
Tried a USB2 ...msipvs capture with INTERVIDEO SOFTWARE and had no audio ,then as soon as I started to record,I started to get stop errors...
it also crashed Adobe premier and nero.........so brought it back and bought an internal card[BT8X8 WDM].............with Pixelview software
Well it does the same thing,,,,,,,,,system is w2000 pro............I'm about ready to give up here!
Is there any stand alone apps that you can convert or capture VHS...
Basically if there was a way to get the file to my hd I could convert it myself with WINAVI!@
Any suggestions are welcome...thx!

It sounds like the problem is with your motherboard and not the capture hardware/software. You may have something funky going on with the PCI bus (both the internal card and the USB card end up interfacing to PCI).
Do you have another PC you can try the hardware on? A friend or family member who wouldn't mind if you experimented a bit?
Also, try removing all the cards except the video card. Then boot and let Windows change the hardware settings. Then power down and add the capture card only. Then power up again and let Windows re-sense the hardware.
If it still does it, I'd suspect either a bad Windows installation or the MB, and I'd lean towards the MB -
Thx,I had a bad feeling it was MB related................
any suggestions on the standalone apps?
