I'm trying to do a conversion from xvid to Mpeg 2. At first, tmpgenc would not read the files. After following the sticky guide I managed to get it to read the files, by doing thisI also downloaded and ran all the auto install for all of the codecs.right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 2 or to the top of the plugin-list and try reopen the video.
Now whenever I try to convert this Xvid, I get a windows error that cannot find some dll like "mpg4dmod.dll"
Do I need to install the codecs to the tmpg folder... or is something else wrong?
Any help is appreciated
EDIT: I had the dll error listed as "mpg4enc" when it really was "mpg4dmod.dll"

mp4enc.dll? For dshow the files required should be xvidcore.dll and xvid.ax. For VFW, xvidvfw.dll and xvidcore.dll. Don't know where mpg4enc.dll comes in as from the sounds of the name it involves encoding, not decoding.

Is there some kind of huge codec pack I can download? Or would it maybe be possible to get a plug-in for premiere pro that allows me to import Xvid / Divx files?

If simple conversion is all that is needed, you might try VSO DivxToDVD.Some people say dog is mans best friend. I say that man is dog's best slave... At least that is what my dogs think. -
Why not click the link and find out? :P
It converts DivX/XviD *.avi (and probably other sources) to MPEG 2, it is a "one click" program, but seems to get a lot of praise.
It will not provide as many features or as much control as using seperate tools, but might be worth a shot. Some people say dog is mans best friend. I say that man is dog's best slave... At least that is what my dogs think. -
You can download the mpg4mod.dll athttp://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files.php/dllfiles/M/mpg4dmod.dll/download.html. I would also open the file in avicodec and see if you have the proper codecs installed. Avicodec is freeware and is listed in the tools section.

Can VirtualDubMod read the file?
If it can, you can frameserve the file with VDubMod to TmpgEncPlus. -
Virtual dub mod can read the file... is there a way to use it to batch convert?
