  1. I have an AVI and WAV file that I am planning on converting to DVD format. I have TMPGEnc Plus and I was thinking of using that. Is that a good idea or are there other better programs out there? and which programs do you recommend for authoring my DVD (one with chapters, menus, etc.) and for that matter, are there any recommended programs for burning the DVD? I have Nero if that's any good but if there is anything better let me know.

    Hello,

Tmpgenc is VERY GOOD at converting files to mpg. Just set it to mpg2 for ntsc or pal depending on your location. The resulting mpg will be ready to go.

  3. alright sweet, so when i convert with that should i do both the video and audio? or does it seperate it in the authoring process? by the way, i'd prefer it if I could have Dolby Digital audio and not PCM.

  4. Convert the AVI to DVD compliant MPEG2 using TMPGEnc. Convert the WAV to AC3 using BeSweet. Then use the video & audio separately in DVD authoring tools like DVDLab Pro or TMPGEnc DVD Author to author your DVD. Let the authoring program mux the audio & video to VOBs.
