  1. If anyone can help...............

I recently captured a bunch of VHS tapes for output to DVD. I used Half D1 resolution to capture and everything seems OK. I want to encode these to SVCD specs and then run the whole thing through DVDLab so that I can put 3 or 4 movies onto one DVD. I have done this before with DVD rips, so I know how to do this.

My issue is that the analog (VHS) captures don't really look the nicest. There is slight interlacing and some hazing around the finer edges in the frames (I believe it is known as Mosquito) and I know that AviSynth can filter these out so that it will improve quality. I just can't seem to get the filers I need to work properly. When I added the plugin and changed my script to apply my filter, AviSynth tells me that the filter I am using isn't a 1.0 filter. My mistake, I didn't notice from the download site that certain filters only work with certain versions. So, I downloaded 2.5.5 and now I can't get the mpeg2source to load because my mpeg2dec.dll isn't a 2.5 plugin. The plugin site shows that this plugin doesn't seemto be available for version 2.5, so I am now lost. How can I get my mpegsource to load using AviSynth 2.5 or do I need to install the older version again.

I *think* you need to use MPEG2Dec3.dll for 2.5.5, but I could be mistaken.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. Actually, after alot of digging I found the plugin I needed.(MPEGdecoder.dll found it at the plugin site) Now I just need to get the filters working. I haven't worked with AviSynth before too much, just for encoding animation DVDrips with a pre-written script. I want to learn how to write my own for future projects, so I need to learn what exactly this program is capable of.
