I looked at the one at Circuit City and the dimensions weren't good enough for me. Mainly I needed the unit to be over 22" high which was something not easily come by. This one is about 30" and the color would probably work in my room. I have to order it online so I guess if I don't like it I will just send it back since I can't go to there to look at it.

What do you think about this TV stand?

Usually you can also return it to the local store. I have done that in the past with items bought from the web page.

Looks decent. Again, I say build it yourself or get some concrete blocks and shelving board. It'll do whatever you make it to do.

I appreciate your advice Doramius but I'm not really very good when it comes to building furniture with the exception of pieces like this that come with assembly instructions.

    Here you go.

Place cinder blocks at even intervals of spacing.
Use proper thickness of shelving board per weight requirements or more support from additional cinder block under the weight to relieve weight stress.
Don't place cinder block on middle of shelf without having a supporting block underneath.
Plpace TV and equipment on shelves.
    :P

Thanks. Maybe I'll go back and look at some of those pics of cinder blocks in action.

milk crates are good too. You can use string to tie them together and make things like mattress boxes, desks, entertainment centers, lamp stands, Dining tables, clothes cubbies, seating, and milk holders. :P
