  1. I tried searching for the best tool to convert mpg to dvd, but could not find anything?

I have been using ULEAD MOVIE FACTORY but I think the quality isn't as good as I could get it.

    Could anyone make any suggestions?

    Thank you!

  2. Weel, it depends on the mpeg. If it is already DVD compliant, no conversion needed, just authoring. See WHAT IS DVD (top left) to find out what you need for it to be compliant. If it is not DVD compliant, you need to re-encode to make it so. There are several good encoders including but not limited to Tmpgenc, Cinemacraft encoder, Mainconcept etc. Each has its own strenghts and weaknesses.

  3. How would I put 5 mpeg clips (700mb each) onto 1 dvd, but keep the quality?

I find when I use ULEAD MOVIE FACTORY the quality deteriorates greatly, but it's the only program that allows me to view it on my dvdplayer.

    any thoughts?
    I'm lost!

Find the "do not convert compliant files" checkbox. I think it's under preferences in MF. Providing the files are DVD compliant it won't reencode them.

    Are they compliant?

  5. If the files are already dvd compliant then there is no need to encode again. Use TMPGEnc to encode your files if at all. Many will second me that its a good encoder.

That would fit a single layer DVD recordable with room to spare. If they are DVD compliant, just author (TMPGEnc DVD Author). If they are not DVD compatible, you might get lucky with SVCD2DVDMPG - to cheat your authoring app into believeing they are in fact compliant. Chances are pretty good for your player to play them correctly anyway (at least if they are in some kind of standard format, like SVCD, to begin with)
