This is a wonderful program that gives true lossless compression of wave files.

Unfortunately it hasn't been updated for XP - I get an error during install that says:

"c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-Dos and MS Windows application. Choose close to terminate the application"

Anyway to work around this to force it to run in xp environment?

Have you considered using say Monkey audio or FLAC instead? Also optimfrog, wavpack, wmv9 lossless, etc. There really is no shortage of lossless audio compressors.
