  1. OK so far i have used only Ulead DVD workshop to make all my dvd's but the conversion has been taking up to 4 hours and im sick of it. I then used WinAvi to convert now heres the problem. I have the file converted but I dont know what program to use for adding menus. I would like for anyone to please explain me what you personally use like what you use to convert, author, and burn.

If you converted it to DVD compliant mpeg you could just import it into MF and create your menus there. Make sure to select the "do not convert compliant files" option. Should be found under preferences.

That's a question you'll get a hundred answers too. Everyone has there own way of doing things. Whatever suits them and there familiar with.... Me personally, I'm using Ulead Media Studio Pro for editing and encoding and DVD Workshop for authoring.

There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

    Carpe diem.

What to use to convert totaly depends on your source, but let's assume some AVI kind of source:
Convert using AviSynth to resize and stuff, QuEnc or Mainconcept or TMPGEnc to encode. (Bitrate Calculator to determine what bitrate to use when encoding)
Author with TMPGEnc DVD Author (for simple one title stuff) or DVD-Lab for more advanced authoring.
ImgTools Classic to create DVD image.
    DVDDecrypter to burn.
Simple and reliable, with full control over the process.

    I use

    Converting - TMPGenc Plus 2.5
    Authoring - TMPGenc DVD Author
Burning - I have TDA output to an ISO and I burn with DVD Decrypter.
