Followup: Y'know, this is kinda like that software that they always use on police and spy shows, y'know the kind that makes blurry ATM camera photos crystal clear?

"Jimmy, can you zoom in on that license plate and enhance?"

"Sure, boss - but it'll take some time."

Maybe the better answer would be:

    "Hahaha, boss - you're a funny ************, y'know that?"

I like the Kevin Costner movie 'No Way Out' where they find an underexposed photo and it they take a week to scan the photo until they get a perfect photo.

    OK, no more hijacking, sorry

It's possible that it sharpens, or denoises, or whatever - but it doesn't "enhance". That's a misnomer at best, a completely bogus claim at worst.

Maybe it enhances by adding new content...Anythings possible.....:-)

  9. For anyone who normally resizes their player (larger) at playback time, or watches full screen, a simple encode-time resizing with a good resize filter can increase perceived quality.

Could try something like iip: Integrated Image Processor or another AVISynth script to give the impression of extra details.
