Is it possible to use it effectively over dial up? I know the Isreali chick that I would like to talk to.2 1/2 years of emails have gotten old.I know she has dial up.

It is OK, a little like a bad MP3 but it should be fine. 56kbps isn't a bad rate for audio, is it?

Skype on dial up is a lot like a cell phone call. Clear at times but spotty every now on then.
DON'T SURF while on skype with dial up. Before I got my DSL I was getting about 42k avg on dial up. When I skyped it was clearish but if I would surf at the same time it would drop out a lot. And DON'T DOWNLOAD anything while you do it.....
