  1. Ok I just bought a Sharp MiniDV cam, I know I need something called a "i.Link" or "IEEEE" or something like that. I know it's like a firewire card or something like that, but how do I know exactly what I need?

  2. FireWire Card. Just go to your local RadioShack or FutureShop. It's a PCI card that you put into one of your PCI slots and Windows XP will automatically detect the drivers and install them for you. Then take the cable that comes with the card and plug the small indented end into the outlet on your cam and the bigger end into one of the 3 FireWire ports. Use WinDV to capture video. Set discontinuity to 0. Set maximum frames to 1000000.
    Have fun.

  3. Ok just making sure. I'm no newbie to computers or video editing, I work at a computer store and run a film company, but I've just never messed with DV before. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.
