  2. well i have finally found the correct settings for this software it took 8 blank dvd's to finally how to stop the jerkiness and picture rumbling.

here are the settings for the main concept PVR program to get perfect picture quality with no problems whatsoever.

open the program click the wrench icon which is settings

click button in the middle labeled record change the preset to custom mpeg 2 then below that you will see performance and quality change it to a setting of FIVE by moving the slider on the bar then click advanced to make sure its on FIVE dont bother changing the quality in the advanced setting as it will not change it.

finally click advanced in audio encoder uncheck frequency support for the top 2 only leave the third checked which is 48000khz.

while still in settings click advanced next under video encoder basic change the bitrate to you likeing on a setting of 8500 this program gives crisp clear mpeg's.

lastly go to video encoder advanced change the field coding to top field first the default is bottom which doesnt make any sense.

after than you should be getting perfect mpeg's with no problems..

operating system using the same setting was.

    Win2000
    sempron 2400+
    640 mb pc2700
    leadtek winfast tv 2000

    winxp
    athlon xp 1900
    512mb pc2100
    leadtek winfast tv 200

both machine have the latest capture drivers and used the latest version of main concept pvr.

i seen no guides to using this software so this should help some how to properly use this excellent program.
