i have a cpu (amd 1ghz tbird) that does not support SSE commands, therefore im having a problem in using PremierePro.
Is there any way round this? perhaps software that can trick the application making me cpu seems younger and allow me to work!!
Plz anyone that knows anything on this matter plz msg me!!
thanx in advance

get new system - Premeire pro will run like crap on anything less then 2ghz and 512 of memory (as will other NLEs)

No SSE is no SSE.
I know of no software that will fake these instructions and even if there were, it would have very poor performance.
As per BJ_M, you need to get a new system... or get other / older versions of software.
The only version of Adobe Premiere that I have is v5 and that definitely works with non-SSE CPUs (e.g., Celeron 300A).

define "fine" ... Premeiere pro runs like a slug on even a 1.7GHZ system ....
adobe recomends a min. of a 3ghz system and 1Gb or more of memory ..
thats right off the premiere page ..."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
Well all I do is cut and edit dv video. Ya when I export it then it takes a while. About 3 hours for an hour video. Other than that I get no lag times and it just works fine. Maybe if I was doing more in premiere like effects or something it would bog it down. Also my system is optimized for what it is. I got good ram and my windows xp is installation is optimized. I have seen other P4 computers with low or lousy ram and where there computers are not set up right and they run like crap.

3hours to export 1 hour of DV? Shouldn't it just be direct streaming at least most of it if you are just cutting?

celtic_druid what do u mean? what is direct streaming? i also export my stuff to dvd, is direct streaming something new? a better way?
-
No, I was going by your all I do bit. Direct streaming is where when you really are just cutting and editing DV and the parts that aren't altered are exported without re-compression. Remember DV capture is lossless, but DV itself is not.
So to sum up, all you do is cut, edit and export to DVD, not just cut and edit.
