This card i found lying around was perfect for what im aiming to do - build a computer which i can keep permanantly attached to the TV so i can record TV shows and watch them later. Its pretty old, ATI have stopped supporting it unfortunatly, but its an ATI all in wonder and comes with a tuner and TV out.
The problem is that videos played on TV have annoying textures appearing over them. The desktop looks fine, but any video (ive tried wmv's, Video CD Mpegs, AVI's - not all recorded on the same computer) and they give a weird texturey look. Ive taken a screenshot of one video that was recorded to wmv format using the same machine. One is a direct picture off a frame in the video and another is a screenshot of the video been played over the TV out (i connected the tv-out to the tv-in on THIS machine to get the screenshot)
i know the picture is slightly darker due to the way its been setup. but if you zoom in, you should be able to see green-like textures appearing.
is this a software problem or a hardware problem? has anyone got any ideas or solutions? i downloaded the latest drivers off the ATI site instead of using the XP ones (i tried both with the same result)
one on the left is a direct picture of the frame
one on the right is a screenshot of the TV-out (it looks a bit worse on the TV)
