program running all the time

I use a pixelview playtv mpeg2 tuner card. I have nero 5.o, nero oem, and other capture programs installed. When I try to use any of them except for intervideo win dvr, or nero to capture with,I am told the other programs cannot run because aonther program is in use. Virtualdub(any version),and any other capture programs do this. How can I determine what program is running in the background that is causing this problem. I have deleted, reinstalled, etc, until I am blue in the face trying to overcome this. I need help.

I am assuming you have already checked Task Manager for programs and processes running? Also check your startup folder and see what starts when the computer starts.

This site will tell you more about processes and should help determine what process is running.
