  1. I recently burned a movie that is very wide screen (almost half the screen has black bars above and below the film). When I play it on my computer, it's fine, but when I play it on TV, the sides get chopped off.

What's causig this and how can I fix it? DVD player is PS2

  2. TV's are designed to overscan. The edges of the picture are always cut off by the bezel around the tube.

This is done so TVs can be made with loose tolerance for framing the video.

This is one of the reasons why TV sets cost less than a third that of a professional broadcast monitor.

Are you using 16:9 tv? More likely your PS2 is causing the problem.

My TV is a regular 27 inch trinitron. No wide screen or anything like that.

Is this the problem or is it the PS2? I would think that the TV would make it have the huge bars and a smaller screen, like it usually does.

    Thanks

Try a normal DVD player and see if there is a difference. Otherwise its just the TV doing its thing.

Are you seeing this on your TV?:

    or this?:

And which do you want to see?
