I recently burned a movie that is very wide screen (almost half the screen has black bars above and below the film). When I play it on my computer, it's fine, but when I play it on TV, the sides get chopped off.
What's causig this and how can I fix it? DVD player is PS2

TV's are designed to overscan. The edges of the picture are always cut off by the bezel around the tube.

This is done so TVs can be made with loose tolerance for framing the video.
This is one of the reasons why TV sets cost less than a third that of a professional broadcast monitor. -
Are you using 16:9 tv? More likely your PS2 is causing the problem.
