I need a bit of assistance to understand how to best connect my new PIO 420H to my current TV and to also connect my Mitsuibishi VCR as well to transfer a load of VHS tapes to DVD with the (very) limited equipment that I currently have.
I don't have great stuff by any means so those of you who have better, please don't sneer at what I've got. I also don't have cable...shocking I know but I am currently temping due to a layoff and the Pio 420 from Costco was an indulgence.
I am also lacking an S Video out on the TV. I don't believe either of my Mitsuibishi VCRs has S Video either. I just have the multiple red and white audio inputs and outputs and the yellow video ones. I do have a set of front panel jacks on each. I will upgrade my equipment at some point but for now this is the best I can do.

Unless you upgrade your TV and VCR, it's apparent that you only have one choice in how to hook them all up anyway. Take your composite outs into one of your recorder inputs. Then recorder composite out into the TV composite in. And of course the cable input, into the recorder then out to the TV cable in.
