    If i convert anime video files that have "built-in" subtitles to mpeg-2 videos, Will the converted videos contain the subtitles also?

    From which format you want to convert them? I know that all formats (avi, mpeg-1 and so on) with built-in subtitles (your video stream includes them) will create built-in subtitles in mpeg-2...

    If the subtitles are already a part of your video, then of course yes the result will contain your subtitles too.
