  1. As I stated in a previous post, I just installed XP pro, I can burn, using it's drag and drop feature, but none of the burning software on the market seems to work with my drive, other than WinOnCD 3.8, which does not work under XP, now is there a way, to take an MPEG, convert it to a vcd format before the burn (as opposed to during the burn process) save it to the HD, and then drag and drop it to the disk... I figure this will keep all of you tech types busy, 'cause I have run out of ideas

    Thanks in advance

  2. Just a thought

Have you installed the ASPI layer? It doesn't come with XP.

  3. I'm also running Windows XP Pro US, using Nero 5.5 for burning.

I don't think just droping a VCD file on the write share would do, since there are a couple of directories and files created on the VCD or SVCD when burning with Nero.

For ASPI Drivers - they came with Nero or WinDVD. You can find some also on http://www.aspi-treiber.de, there are versions which don't check for Adaptec hw.

  4. I have the latest ASPI layer, the problem is in my burner, the only software that WOULD recogize it was WinOnCD, and it does not work under XP (I tried the patch listed on a previous post, no luck) So what I am looking for is a way to set up the VCD on the harddrive (all prepared as it would be on the disk) and then just burn it as I would normal files under XP

  5. I am using VCDEasy and CDRDAO to burn SVCD's in XP - works fine. The ASPI check showed I had the right ASPI layer installed (I actually have 3 optical drives in my PC, two IDE including a DVD and my burner and a SCSI CDROM)

I also installed EasyCD Creator 5.02 and applied the XP updates - still can burn with CDRDAO (Easy CD Creator can only burn VCD's)
